Julia Schieffer is a financial journalist specializing in the securities industry, derivatives processing and technology. Having worked both in the US and UK, Julia has covered all areas within the industry – investment management, capital markets, asset servicing, and solution vendors.

Prior to founding DerivSource, Julia was managing editor of Operations Management, a publication focused on the securities industry and owned by Institutional Investor News (Euromoney). She has also contributed to other industry publications including Financial News, Markets Media, The Fund Business, and publications at Incisive Media.

DerivSource was created to be an independent and valuable resource for industry professionals eager to obtain regular industry and market news, insight into timely trends and gain access to resources useful for educational and researching purposes. The content is geared to support the information needs of both buy-side and sell-side financial institutions as well as service and solution providers. Overall, DerivSource aims to facilitate debate and discussion among industry participants so that the trading, processing and servicing of derivatives, whether in-house or market-wide, can be improved and common problems resolved.
