NYSE Liffe’s Commodity Derivatives trading volumes reached new highs in 2010, experiencing double digit growth both in futures and options. Annual volume grew by 37% year on year, reaching a new record of 16,679,006 contracts against 2008’s volume of 13,245,517 contracts.

April 13th, 2010 NYSE Liffe to Launch Malting Barley Futures and Options

NYSE Liffe, the Europe-based derivatives business of NYSE Euronext (NYX), today announced the launch of Malting Barley futures and options on Monday 10 May 2010.

The NYSE Liffe Malting Barley Contract, which will encompass Malting Barley from any European origin in a 50-tonne lot size, has been designed to meet the growing demand for new price risk management tools from the European Malting Barley sector.

March 29th, 2010 NYSE Liffe Multi-Serial Options on Euribor Trade over 2 million Lots in 2 months

NYSE Liffe, the Europe-based derivatives business of NYSE Euronext (NYX), launched multi-serial options on Euribor on January 19 2010, to offer further hedging opportunities to customers, in Euribor options, the world’s leading interest rate options market.

Multi-serial options are long dated non-quarterly delivery months, delivering into quarterly futures.

Since launch, the new Euribor multi-serial options have traded 2.2 million contracts.

March 25th, 2010 FTSE 100 Dividend Index Futures Reach 1 Million Contract Milestone

NYSE Liffe, the European derivatives business of NYSE Euronext, said that its FTSE 100 Dividend Index futures contract has traded its millionth contract. The contract, which was only launched in May last year, is available both through LIFFE CONNECT® and Bclear, the exchange’s trade administration and clearing service.
