Phase II of Strategic Partnership Provides CME Group Customers with Access to MexDer Benchmark Products

GFI Group (NYSE: “GFIG”) a leading provider of wholesale brokerage, clearing services, electronic execution and trading support products for global financial markets announced today it has conducted the first fully electronic Mexican Peso UDI/Libor Interest Rate Swap. 

SunGard has added hosted ASP connectivity for member firms to the Bolsas y Mercados Españoles’s Mercado Español de Futuros Financieros (MEFF) and Borsa Italiana’s Italian Derivatives Exchange Market (IDEM). The addition of these two markets, which provide the primary platforms for trading on Spanish and Italian financial derivatives, brings the number of SunGard’s Valdi Market Access electronic markets connections to more than 100.

CME Group, the world's leading and most diverse derivatives marketplace, and the Bolsa Mexicana de Valores, S.A.B. de C.V. (BMV), the financial exchange operator in Mexico, today announced that they have entered into a strategic partnership that includes an order routing agreement for derivatives products. CME Group has purchased shares in the Mexican exchange valued at $17 million, or approximately 1.9 percent of outstanding BMV shares, as part of the equity portion of the agreement.
